Some building have skyways every so many floors, also called sky lobbies. Im tempted to think that on this "odd" day that she was taken to the seventh floor, he did not JUMP out the window. But fell out.

The only concluseion i can come up with is the man was blind. (elevaters / lifts have brial writen near the buttons).On this day, he may have accidentally hit the seventh button unknwingly. Upon ariving at the seventh floor, took the stairs up exactly 4 flights as per his norm. Steped into teh shy lobby thinking that it was his flat. Down "the hallway" he proceeded, untill he walked into, and through a peice of glass.(sky lobbys are usually surounded by glass),

I was going to say that he found his way to the roof. But one that is blind would notice an atmosphere change, and roof access dors on building are usually alarm equiped.

So we are assuming here that he is able to reach button 7 because he grew taller? I can't think of many other ways that would let him reach that extra button.

This means that he must have lost his reason for living because he grew too tall for something, like the jockey dude said. And we can rule out horse racing...

I think the guy lost his job, so he killed himself. The reason he proably got to the 7th floor this time is because he possibly could have been a construction worker, and he tool his tools with him. He used one of his tools to press the 7th floor button and then he jumped out the window.
