Is the dart a physical dart? Could be dart as in the verb...to dart...

Does the president have an allergy to food, or to something else?

Quoted :: TheAbdBoy

Was the cookie factory man the one who fired the dart at the president?

Yes.

Quoted :: TheAbdBoy

Was the dart actually fired by someone?

Indirectly. By that I mean there's usually some kind of machine in between, like a gun.

Quoted :: TheAbdBoy

Was something from the cookie factory delivered to the area of the speach?

No. Unless you count trace amounts.

Quoted :: kikumbob

Yes.

Food.

I suppose that's one "good" thing about my degree (aero engineering), there aren't too many terms/words/etc that have "alternative" meanings.
What, like cockpits, turboshafts, thrust, nozzles, corkscrews, ram drag, payload, flaps, and wind tunnels?

Did the dart have some sort of food smeared onto it?

Did the dart come from the cookie factory?

I forgot to be specific. Did the dart have food that the president was allergic to on it?

Did the cookie factory man visit the area of where the shooting occured, before the shooting?

It happened on a Monday, so the cookie factory man could have gone there on the weekend to set up a machine to shoot a dart. Maybe not at the president, but a dart, just to show that anyone could set up a bomb or something.

Yes, that's 2/3 of the mystery solved. The man knew what time and place the president would be giving a speech, so he prepared a rifle with a timer and hid it in a suitable place. He got trace amounts of food from his workplace on the dart, and the president handled the dart.

How did the police know?

Well the police could have traced the food on the dart back to the cookie factory. By questioning the employees, they would have the cookie factory man as a suspect, because he does rant aloud about poor security in the country.

Does that sound right?

See if you can get this in one go...

A famous Hollywood actor is thinking about dinosaurs, when he arrives home to his multi-million dollar house, which has been reduced to a pile of debris.

What happened and why was he thinking about dinosaurs?

Did a dinaosaur step on the hollywood actor's house?

Does the hollywood actor have much to do with dinosaurs?

Has the actor starred in some sort of dinosaur movie?

Was hey in a very dinosaur-y place?

Does it matter how he got home?

Is the actor Chuck Norris?

Was he in a movie at that time?

To clarify:

The actor was actually being filmed for the movie, and that house was destroyed because of some kind of special effects.

Well I give up on trying to solve it in one try.

Was there a gas explosion at his house?
Did he want to get a dinosaur as a pet?

I am enjoying this. I thought it would be easy because there aren't many ways a house can be reduced to a pile of debris, but you aren't asking many questions.

Kind of like there aren't many ways a dead person can be found lying in the desert, but I asked about most of the possibilities on that one and found out straight away that he fell from a great height. ;)

Quoted :: TheAbdBoy

Was there a gas explosion at his house?

No.

Quoted :: TheAbdBoy

Did he want to get a dinosaur as a pet?

Irrelevant. I mean, who doesn't want a dinosaur as a pet?
