1st post (if anyone cares, lol)

just got WA and just wanna know what I should have (patch/patches) to be sure I'm up to date for online play (running Windows XP)...and also maybe a little something for "what to expect" while playing online

everything should work fine in xp. Hosting is usually the main problem people have.

Expect ropes in online play. Things have changed in terms of the main gametypes played online since I used to play though I think, but they still involve ropes. Check the rules for the gametypes if you can - gametypes page here might be helpful - before playing them (that is if you're not already used to the gametypes from wwp etc?). Equally it's not difficult to find fairly normal matches. Main gametypes that were played when I was online were proper [didn't see any of these when I last looked], shopper, rope-race, maybe team17, occasional battle-race. There's more WxW shoppers I think now.
