Most TVs these days can easily take input from PCs, so I suppose it depends more on the graphics card. I plugged my work laptop into yonder TV and watched videos recently.

So here we are, the new age of the console wars and shitting dick nipples is at it again.

And by that I mean people are being retarded. (not people in this thread I mean site comments/forums that have people going "PS3 sux!" "Wii is for pussies!" "Xbox is hueg!")

It goes like this:
PS3:: Computer/console, on your TV. No need to constantly upgrade, and somewhat portable (being hueger than xbox1..)

Wii:: Party gaming. A console designed mostly for party-like games, or with other people around

Xbox420:: Designed purely for gaming. And for online..

Hmmmmm but the average computer monitor has a lower resolution than a HDTV.

ok, you're right, 1080p is 1920x1080 (2.1MP)
My primary monitor is 1440x900 (1.3MP) and my secondary is 1280x1024 (1.31MP) 2.6 in total but there's basically only one game that will take advantage of that - supreme commander which has dual monitor support.

The xbox360 apparently only supports 1080i (interlaced, so very meh), but then this is a thread about the PS3, which does support p..

I wouldn't be surprised though if it's cheaper to buy a monitor that supports a resolution that high than it is to buy an HDTV. The gfx card to power it is another matter though I suppose.

Though having said that, I don't really have much to add either, except I very much doubt I'll be getting a console in the near future if at all, and even if I did want one, it wouldn't be the PS3 as it's way too expensive for me.

A computer is all I need. That and Halo 2 to come out...

Get a xbox if you want Halo 2, but yeh a computer is all you need.
