So someone with vision below 20 is far sighted and someone with above 20 is close sighted?
NO!
Or yes, I would believe that close sighted is a disability and really someone with 20/less than 20 would actually have magnified vision..ish

No, you cant have 20/<20, it isn't possible. Short sightedness is when the eyes focuses rays in front of the retina (too short, if you will), and long sightedness is when the rays focus behind the retina. I'm sure DarkOne will tell you more, he's the doctor

Meia, yes, it is indeed possible to have a vision of 20/10. Few people have it naturally, and some glasses are crafted in such a way as to give a vision of 20/10.

So what do you call someone's vision in terms of "20/20", if they're short sighted?

You'd still call it whatever it would normally be. You just have to take into account that over X distance the vision might be impared somewhat.
Just because they can't see what a normal 20/20 person would at one distance, doesn't mean they won't be able to see the same as a 20/20 person at another difference. That's what comes up when you throw in near/farsightedness.

Could they be happen to be called "Binoculars"?

If I could actually find the pair of eyeglasses, I would tell you what I mean. But, the internet is no help in finding them, so I'll have to wait until I see them again elsewhere. My next eye-doctor appointment is in August...

Sounds like it was caused by computers then..
No, almost all of my mom's side of the family is blind as hell. Including my mom, therefore ruining my eyes.

I'm sure there was some article I read ages ago about how children who spend all their time with their eyes focused on a point close to them (ie a book) rather than going outside and say, playing football, had worse eyesight due to the lack of practice with their eye muscles, or something. Whether there's any real truth in it, who knows.
er... don't think I've posted in this - my eyes are fine.

It's possible. Though, if it happens, it's usually overshadowed by some sort of repetitive stress injury. An example is reading in a darkened room, which one of my friends did alot and now she wears glasses because of it.

If you go outside too much the sun hurts your eyes, and can burn the retina, causing vision loss.
