i didn't have glasses when i was a kid but i could see... or so i thought. then eventually we had my eyes checked and i got contacts. they help me see a lot, but then i leave them in all the time. it sucks if i take them out at night and forget to put them back in the next day, just like right now. i kept meaning to put them in all day but i never got around to it.
if we're going to get into a glasses/contacts debate, i wore my glasses a few times and always managed to misplace them or sit or sleep on them, and i would have to get them adjusted. i find contacts a very little hassle, but i usually leave them in for months at a time. i dont think i'm going to do that anymore, it's starting to get irritating, so i take them out every night like i should.
oh, almost forgot. can't hardly read the topic titles on the right, the small font in the new inverted ultra compact. i can read them with my contacts in, but it's still pretty small.

I'm fairly sure that it's the monitor that degraded my eyes the most. Either that, or reading, since i'm a book addict in free time
It's more likely to be your genetics.

So, since your status shows you're unemployed, does that mean you'll be around more often again r_e?
On topic, I see 20-30 in my right eye and 20-60 in my left eye. Yeah, it sucks to be me...

I need glasses for reading. Thats it. I think it was all due to me spending so many hours on the computer and watching tv.

20/20 vision was an arbitrary standard that was thought up by doctors as a standard for vision. 20/20 is normal vision, which stands for a person seeing an object from 20 feet away. A vision of 20/40 means that from 20 feet, you see the object like a 20/20 person would see it from 40 feet, in otherwords, your vision is worse. 20/200 if the cutoff for legal blindness.
In metric, it's roughly 6/6 vision for a normal person.

so, if someone has 20/10 vision, that would mean they see things 10 feet away just like a 20/20 person would see them 20 feet away...argh confused..

20/10 means that the person can see an object 20 feet away like a normal person would see it from 10 feet away.

Bald Eagles have 20/5 vision apparently, no doubt other animals have it even better.

Aside from the fact that I don't think it's actually possible for a human to have that kind of vision, yes, it would indeed mean they'd have incredable vision. The kind of vision that would probably allow them to see how many eyes there are on a bug sitting a foot away from it.
