Now that you mention it, using something like a plasma rifle with a plasma gun was quite wonderful. You could charge up the plasma pistol whilst firing with the rifle, then let rip the charged plasma. It was the first time I had come across dual weilding.
Boarding was fun too. And it allowed more freedom when using vehicles. In halo 1, grenading an alien tank or ghost meant it blew up completly and you couldnt use it. Boarding alows you to use any vehicle availible. But apart from that, the new storyline and a few new aliens, thats all thats new in Halo 2...isnt it?

[my point was - halo 1 (2001) ut2k4 (2004)]
and afaik dual weilding's better than goldeneye - something about combinations? but I don't know, really.
My point is, Halo 2 (last quarter 2004) ut2k4 (early 2004).
As for dual wielding in Goldeneye, holding down the fire button while cycling weapons allowed you to dual wield two different weapons. And that went for ALL weapons, not just 4 or 5.

You can't exactly call GTA games first-person shooters because, um, they're THIRD PERSON games.

I've just got HL2 working and it fucking owns donkey balls. Been playing HL2 M and SourceForts. Played both the Halos. They are ok games not the best console shooter in the world (Timesplitters gets that award for me)

Amen brother, although I never heard of Mohaa. As for Halo, I fucking hate it. I don't know why people like it so much.

Because it's an FPS that actually plays well on a console, you know, unlike every OTHER FPS out there (other than Unreal Tournament, I hear that plays well, but not as well as Championship on PC).

Because when I play UT2k4 and HL2, I become used to super advanced custom mods and extreme realistic physics, which kill my liking for halo.

Halo is modded just as much as anyother game. 1, 2, PC and mac versions all have loads of mods, Halo2 is in big development for loads of mods being created... I could give link but, that would waste my time as it seems everyone here is a HL2 lover

Pfft..... No console game can be modded. While yes, you can make up a small game to play in multi-player you cannot add dives and flips into Halo2 like they did with the specialists mod for Halflife.
EDIT: My reason for not likeing halo is because of the pacing. It's too fast to be tactical and too slow to be arcade fast action.

You forget Psymon, Halo 1 is out on PCs and Halo 2 is supposedly being developed for PC.
