I apologize for that post up there. I was in a foul temper at the moment and Jay's post up there pushed me over the edge...



Please show me posts where I claim or put out an aura that prevades me being above 90% of all of BTP's users. I don't, as far as I know. I try to be humble, but eventually you have to take up the sword for a post or two. If that makes me seem to be better than everyoen else, well, I can't do anything about voicing my opinion. I will try to watch myself in the future though.
Also, if you think about it, everyone that posts in this thread (and many more besides) are higher than 90% of BTP's users, because that 90% is either:
A) Banned (for a good reason I hope).
B) Horribly Inactive (as in, next to no posts/submissions).



First, I'm not saying treat every account as a new user. I'm just saying that we really need to throw off the paranoia that's consuming us, becuase I feel it may be clouding out judgement. Not only that, but the tension in this room (page?) could be cut with a knife.
Second, I did not proclaim myself president of the new users fanclub. I defend normal users rights because:
A) I know what it's like to start in your first (or even second or third) forum. I feel that we've forgotten this and have started taking people for granted. We need to consider people, as well as their feelings a bit more here.
B) If I didn't, then there'd be almost nobody to step in and do it, barring the admins since they (hopefully) all defend user rights as well.
New accounts, leave them alone. If they CLEARLY show themselves to be a previously banned user (no, don't pressure them, that just adds to tension), then you can ban them. Until then, yes, they should be treated like a new user no matter what your suspicions may hold.



Now here's the one thing I need to ask. Why exactly, are we checking logs and IPs of every new member to the forum. It's a bit condenscending, don't you think?

One last thing. I do feel that the opening post of this thread was made in a arrogant way and completely innappropriate. I'm talking about everything past the point of the chat log. You really didn't need to lord it over us that you were right and we were wrong. We can see that from the log and the user's status...

1st. there is no paranoia.

this is becuase of secondly.

We do not check every user. Just ones, that are suspect. ( instantly hitting the forums is a good sign, most users signup to download files )

I plucked that user i posted the log of, from the user list. I simply grabbed one who wasnt banned. Yet was relativly new.

The opening post was, as we explained.In the chat room when you joined. Poking fun at the people who maintained that Source was a normal user. And me and pios suspisions were unjustified. this can be seen in both the exclamation of it. In large size 30 letters, and also the grammer, reminicent of the chat room antics. "We are winna"

Excuse me, but we Dont check logs of every new user. In case we do, its to MAKE SURE kyle hasnt signed up again. Userlog just incase someone WERE to do something wrong, and IDENTIFY IT.
Would this situation differ AT ALL if a regualr admin banned him?
I dunno but this whole thing wouldnt have started if some people were to just Ignore the situation

Glenn doesn't think he 90% higher then everyone else, he's just afraid we may scare new users away that aren't kyle.

I think Pio and Wish are doing a good job, except the fact they are too quick to judge and too quick to post their opinions directly to the user.

Don't post your opinions to the user unless they do something wrong, and only post those things to the user that they did wrong, not your assumptions on who they are or what they will do wrong.

Um, what do you mean, were to quick to judge and post? We havent been, and were not *quick*, and THEY WERE DOING STUFF WRONG! what dont some of you get!

I was referring to when you and wish were posting to Source and questioning him. Kyle as we now know who he is, was being quite friendly and if he was kyle we could have pushed a good new user to do bad things.

I was asking nicely, he kept avoiding my question so i asked him alittle more, eventually blocked me from sending him PM's. I was being nice, and he was getting annoying as F*ck. IMO we woulda been banned anyways in the future

You can't change your name to get out of trouble it does not work that way. If that was the case i could have gottem my nbame changed and never did my six months in jail.

The boint is he broke the rules and now MUST suffer the conciquenses. not take the easy way out. You dont learn anything that way.

Give him like 6 months.. maybe then he'll grow up, maybe not.

You had a sence of maturity that kyle didn't, like saying you get drunk and went to prison etc..

Actually no. He ran out of chances long ago. I'm not defending kyle at all. I'm just defending new users. If any user is found out to be kyle (such as with Source), then he is instantly banned. Otherwise, there is no real proof and cannot be banned.

Thats the system thats been going on since.. ever
