I mean a fictional book, a book mentionned in some fiction, litterature. So it's a book that doesn't exist in real life.
edit : You can try again, Wish'

It is Douglas Adams, it isn't the correct answer, but this is a fictionnal book mentionned in a book. Good thinking. (I love SF books, i have around a thousand at home, not kidding so i knew this one).
The anwser is an even more famous fictionnal book.

The question itself is flawed, 'most famous' is a not an objecttive term, it can be interpreted in many ways depending on the demographic. For instance among fantasy fans it would be:
"A Hobbit's Tale" by Bilbo Baggins
SF fans might quote
"The hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy" by Ford Prefect
there is no real right answer imo.

ReadMe's answers are good examples, but there is one more... i said it was famous because a lot of people believed that book existed for real. (end of hint).
Use google if needed now.

Good answer Glenn ! This is the one, a lot of people even thought it was a real book, in fact invented by H.P. Lovecraft and Clark Aston Smith.
The Necronomicon (careful, typo) was supposedly written by Abdul Alhazred in Damascus 720 AD. It is a grimoire, a sorcerer's spell-book.
Updated scoreboard :
-------------
Khuzad: 2
Glenn: 1
YBY: 1
Dingbats: 1
Meiapaul: 1
Falkra: 1
-------------
Your turn Glenn.

Erm... should we add the old scores from that previous thread? The old scores were:
-------------
DJ Canada: 2
The candy Man: 2
Harry: 1
Falkra: 1
-------------
If we do add the two together the new scores would be:
-------------
DJ Canada: 2
The candy Man: 2
Khuzad: 2
Falkra: 2
Harry: 1
Glenn: 1
YBY: 1
Dingbats: 1
Meiapaul: 1
-------------
Also I don't know if anyone remembers, but Star Worms said this on the first post in that thread:
Because I'm feeling kind, I'll give the winner of this quiz, after 30 pages, £50 + ( 100 from Wishta and 100 from Pope ).
We have already had 9 pages in the old thread and 5 in this one (9+5=14) so i guess there's 16 pages to go, no?
