i think that a League on BTP would be nice, it would be active cuz so many people ae on BTP that "actually" play worms. A Worms World Party League and A seperate Worms: Armageddon league would own. This League wont be like "FictoLeague" or anything, a real League. it can have statistics of the top 25 wormers and there wins/ losses. at the end of seasons, we can have tournaments and a "Wormer Cup".

I agree as well, having set times for tournaments would rock. If someone fails to show up, they'd lose by default.

OK, so then people who can't make the games because they're in different time zones. Lots of people therefore lose points and people would want to negotiate times with their opponent. If you say "Play at 19:00 EST" then for people in the UK, that's midnight, and I'm not playing a game of worms at midnight. Set times WON't work, trust me, it'll end up a disaster. I don't like the idea of the one who doesn't show up loses a point since if they can't show up at the time, they can't show up. The times need to be negotiated and have time to be negotiated, otherwise the tournament is going to be a disaster.

Perhaps the actually tournaments wouldn't work but normal league games would. And we can just give the BTP Worms Cup to the person that wins that.

As well, this will bring more people to btp because the worming community would want to join the league to show of their "1337" skills.

you can still have a tournament, just like league games, the times can be negotiated just like season games

well.. maybe I'll do something like this, a week on monday. I'm not sure I want to try and rival CL2K tho. heh. Or ESL for that matter. Although I believe he specifically said to me that there were no problems in us starting our own league or affiliating with another.

not gonna confirm my involvment in this (since it'll prolly be Zog's pet for a bit) but if anyone has some good solutions to the obvious problem of result faking, please post them here. Recordings have already been mentioned, but there's a filesize issue there.

Kill submitted recording results a week after submission. Or you could just go with the honor system, and if there are any contentions, throw the game out or get a replay.

who would review the Recordings? is there any way you can fast-forward recordings? I think that we should have a tournament's rules kinda like shopper but unique for the "BTP" league rules..

my idea was that you don't need to view the recordings, just have them uploaded in case of a dispute, and they would be available for anyone else to watch if they wanted to. I think they could be cleared out at the end of any season without any probs, personally. we do have the odd 1500MB available.

Still wouldn't do for WWP.
