There's an ISP offering a 24mb connection (upstream is 1.5mb) for just £24/month. No cap, no strings, nothing. It's positvely nuts.

The downside is that there's not alot of places that have it enabled. I read that you'll most probably be able to get it if you live in London and other cities are to follow.

It's a shame there's a multitude of sites that restrict the download rate but who cares? With a connection that fast, you could host a dedicated Counter-Strike: Source server, be downloading music legally (:P) and even have another PC that hosts your website whilst playing on XBox Live ^^

There's not too much on the website, but here's the link anyway: http://www.bethere.co.uk/

Wow. BT really do suck. £27/month for 2meg from them. We also get crappy email from them and some webspace that we never use.

I wouldn't... I pay about $30 for 3mb Cable, including the 3 cable boxes in my house, and I don't recall if we have there phone.

I never wanted to be reminded of 56k again, but looking at this thread, I got all my anger back...

I suppose that's one "good" thing about my degree (aero engineering), there aren't too many terms/words/etc that have "alternative" meanings.
What, like cockpits, turboshafts, thrust, nozzles, corkscrews, ram drag, payload, flaps, and wind tunnels?

Yeah, japan has the best network evar.
Back in my days of Stee battalion: Line of Contact, U.S. players could only manage a lag-free game of 3 on 3 (u.k. players had it bad.. but then so did other counties) and if a japan user came into a game with all u.s. peepole, the game would lag horribly.

But a japanese only game can manage 5v5 (max) game perfectly, no lag (seen from videos shots, and wernt lan)

edit: the game had a bad netcode that never had a patch to be fixed.. probibly because it was made mostly for japan (then translated to other languages)

edit: Crap! there goees my 1337ness... :p

A single line

Pio: Jeez, 50mb downstream/ 5mb upstream for around £12 on that site. It's...crazy and upsetting. Then again, it's a small country and doesn't take much upgrading to cover all the populants.
