Okay, I got a response from Deadcode. He says that he's not just going to disable it, as that would inevitably lead to a new version of xspeed that works around it, or someone else coming up with another program that does the same thing. Instead, he's implimenting a detection algorithm that will notify you if someone is using it.
But what stops someone else making the exactly same thing without the dectection, who wont care if people get angry at them for making it?
very simply: the cheaters
Actually it was a question of what could we do to stop it rather than who was doing it, ... I hope they can put a patch or something on W:A that kicks people who lag that much but have a normal speed connection or something like that. (But I use WWP )

I assume what he's going to do is make the algorithm so that it checks against all of the programs, and if it finds something strange, it reports it. There's not much else that he can do.
However, if they decide to spend a few months writing an entirely new program just so that it can get around W:A's detection, they must be very sad people.

and the cheaters who download those programs
are sadder people...

No, we notice it. However, in our little world, the only thing that we've actually seen affected so far is W:A. Thus, we concentrate all our anger at that.

At least, that was my understanding of what he said.
Why doesn't he just make a in game boot button?!
Also, I can't rope with low gravity. I always think the rope should run faster.

He can't make an in-game boot button because it will probably end up being abused more than xspeed is right now. Don't ever expect for there to be an in-game boot.

Theres already a boot function in the host menu, why not just establish moderative tools to host like, ping lookup, boot, suspend, etc..
I mean, all other games in the world have a boot function!

See, the problem is with pricks. Pricks use programs such as xspeed. Pricks would use the in-game boot function to get rid of people that are beating them during a game that they hosted. Thus, blame the pricks, not Deadcode.

an in game boot function would be nice, that way when you play a game you can kick the noobs from destroying the game that you dont know about until u start the game. =) right now i have to quit most times if there is a noob which boots everyone

NEW WORM OLYMPICS COMING THIS JULY AND AUGUST!
You can reserve your tournament the site!
Please name the scheme of your tourney, the date for it to occur and the duration of the tourney
------------------------
I wonder what would've happened if everybody booted you when you were a noob
Ingame booting would be the least helpful thing ever put in the game
I hope Deadcode will include that warning in replays as well
There's no problem with using this proggie for practice purposes, but pretending not to use it and using it in league games and tourneys is a whole other deal

Just don't join a prick's game. And if someone kicks you because you are winning, then obviously that person would lose. Just like if they quit.
