Just wanted to warn the community that if someone is lagging consistently during their turn it is a sure sign of xSpeed (a program that slows down the game on the user end) cheating going on. I confronted a player, xDAxProNoob in a RR, and he admitted to it.

Just be alert. Don't play people who lag consistenly during their turn -- they are cheating.

Edit: I've been told that xDAxProNoob also uses the name ThePope. He's Russian, and will make excuses about bad connection or viruses on his computer -- don't believe it.

Well, it's somewhat sad that someone's trying to impersonate out beloved Ivan .

It would give you more control and make it appear that you are a faster roper.

Personally, I think it would be harder to rope in such a slow speed...

I've not played Worms in atleast 6 months online, and I've made no enemies in the worm community I'm aware of.

Sounds like a strange hack too. Clever but unskilled on the user's behalf.

I would think that too. I assumed that it slowed the game down but the roper went the normal speed.

Why can't people just play the game clean. WWP has to be one of the simplist games to play. Bunch of pussies out there.

There have been numerous rope vs non-rope discussions and they all lead to the conclusion that neither is superior or more demanding than the other


xspeed slows down the frame rate at your own computer
so where you would normally have 0,2 seconds to respond, you would now have 0,6 seconds to respond (example)

I tried it offline a few times, but the slowmo roping always tempted me to do hard rope tricks you normally only see in Deadcode replays

A small addition to TonY's warning is this: Somebody who's really lagging has that icon displayed in the top right
Somebody that's using x-speed does not have this icon

That makes sense. The broken connection icon only appears when a person is lagging because of a slow or stalled net connection. When they use xspeed, they are still sending a constant flow of data, so the icon won't appear, but they will still appear to lag as if they did have connection issues.

Just think of it as a slow moving animation (low fps)...

Who the fuck cares? Noobs play wwp, as it is, they still haven't removed that dumb wiptistean command from wwp, and they never patch it.
