guess it might be different in canada. I think britain possibly has the largest uptake of digital TV in the world. Something to do with not buying broadband but buying digital instead. Meh, NTL (digital company) aren't very good at providing the interactive stuff. They say press the red button now, you press the red button, wait a couple of minutes, and you don't get the same quality interactive content that you get on sky. It's all slow waiting for webpages, none of this multi-screen stuff that they have on sky. heh. Still, not to say NTL is a bad cable company, I think it's cheaper, just most TV channels seem to forget it exists while sky is there.

we're picking up 7 here at the mo, not long ago it was 4. But Bob Saget is a household name on free tv in New Zealand. On the few channels there is usually always something I'm glad to watch, in the evenings anyway :)

Sky here sux because even if they offer a certain amount of channels, u only have 1 decoder so u can only watch 1 channel at a time. And Sky Digital by satellite is just plain expensive, it's really only the sport fanatics that bother to get sky here.

I suppose that's one "good" thing about my degree (aero engineering), there aren't too many terms/words/etc that have "alternative" meanings.
What, like cockpits, turboshafts, thrust, nozzles, corkscrews, ram drag, payload, flaps, and wind tunnels?

heh, we've got a couple of hundred, hard to tell cause they space out the channel number so much. A lot of them are shopping and other channels that you really wouldn't want to watch, they're the ones that come free with digital anyway, like bid-up.tv home watchamycallits, then there's other stuff like UK style who play changing rooms pretty much the whole time.

I take it you wouldn't get the british sky channels if you were to get sky in new zealand? or would you? who knows, it is a british company methinks.

sky digital here would bring 100s of channels from across the world, so for some of them the answer is yes I imagine

i should be getting the chreap sky package soon, without the movies and sport, becasue they are just a plain rip-off to have all movie and sports costs an extra £20 a month, and I will nenver watch it, I just want the music channels and the entertainment ones. i dont really care about the others
