Can programs like that resource thing hurt your computer? I'm quite scared of viruses.

Anything can hurt your computer if you don't know what you're doing. Be careful with resource editors and style programs, and you'll be fine.

I edited explorer.exe to change the start button. When you've made your changes, press Ctrl+Alt+Delete, kill explorer.exe, then save, then restart explorer.

edit: don't forget to search for the Windows File Protection copy of explorer and delete that first.

That's why I like finally having my own computer. I got a bunch of money for christmas and spent it all on this damn comp, now I gots no fuckin' monies (counting change for gas). Not only does this beat my parents' computer's ass, but I can have my pornographic screensavers and backgrounds all over the place. It's great and funny at the same time. I also don't have to worry about people looking through my files and finding shit... they could if they wanted to, but I don't think anyone's lookin' through mah comp.
I ain't got all the bullshit programs morons install on their computers because a site tells them to, and I can install whatever I like and shit (unlike when you have multiple morons... er, users).

It's usually C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache, but search your hard disk. Windows likes to mess about and put them in different places.
