i cant save maps from the map editor nor schemes, i tried BitMonkey for maps, but it shows an error and can't open (any other way to convert .bmp's to .bit's ?) and what is called the fodler wwp stores bit files made from the map editor? i tried (wwp\user\) Saved Levels and Maps neither worked - wwp doesn't show any maps when i open that combo box at the map editor, i can import the bmp directly, but its slow (ok), but i can't import any maps if playing multiplayer on wormnet (NOT ok) :/any solution?

Okay, here we go:
WWP/User/SavedLevels (yes, the space makes a difference) is ONLY for .bit and .lev files.

WWP/User/Import is ONLY for .bmp, .jpg, and .gif (NO, .png do not work).

You access the maps in SavedLevels by clicking the drop down box in the map editor.

You access the maps in Import by clicking the floppy disk in the map editor.

Now for using color maps online. It comes down to size issues. There's no one to say whether your map is a 60 kb .gif, or a 2,563 kb .bmp. Thus, to avoid that headache, there is no color map support. Now you may ask, why then can you use it in W:A. It's because it uses 1 and ONLY 1 type of color map, .png. These are generally small, and the only reason you can use them is because they were added in the recent W:A patches.

However, you may freely use maps of the .bit type online.

umm.. i actually wanted to know if there is any other way to convert bitmaps or gifs or jpegs (not interested in pngs btw) to .bit files, i couldn't do that normally through the game - importing image file and then saving it in the dropdown box, it just didn't save, BUTit did save now and seems like everything is ok when i made a folder SavedLevels, thanks. Stupid people who didn't make that folder to appear on install

Get the Visual Basic 6.0 runtimes and the Required Files off this site's download page, then try bitmonkey again.

If BitMonkey doesn't work, you can try WWP itself. Get your bmp, jpg, whatever into the WWP Import folder. Then startup WWP and go to the terrain editor. Press Import and choose your bmp, jpg, whatever file, and choose ok. Any soil bg will do, if you're doing an indestructable map, it doesn't matter whatever you choose. Then, when it's loaded, press the button with the white terrain thing on it. It'll say "Switching to edit mode will lose all color information" But that's what you want, so press yes. Save your map you just got and YEY, you're done.
