I was just wondering, that if you had broken your wwp cd, and you were too lazy to buy a new one, or ask for a replacement, would you be justified just to download a new one? this happend to me once, i had just bought worms world party, my little brother got into my cd rom drive and snapped it in half, so i just downloaded a CD-Image file, and burned it onto a cdr, it works just like the original one. Would this be justified downloading of games you have to pay for ?

I don't see it to be wrong to get an illegal copy of the game in the situation, considering you had already owned the game... but others would say otherwise.

I do hard labour work... and yet poeple get paid about x1000 more than me becuase they can play an insturment or spend hours on the computer.... They still make a shit load of money even if there stuff is pirtated...

Hmm yeah, but i think hes talking about JUSTIFIED pirating not pirating alone , but yeah, i suppose if your cd broke and you really didn't wanna pay for a new one, i guess it would be ok to download a cd image, so it would work just like the original, i mean really, whos gonna take you to court for breaking your cd and just downloading a new one? you already paid for it!

And yes, I would say that downloading a copy of software you already own a license for and using it within the license is justified. As are no CD cracks for this purpose. That's my opinion, at least.

well software licensing laws allow you to make a copy of software for backup purposes, so i guess if you forgot to take a backup you can still use your licence for something else.

I try to use as much open source and freeware stuff as I can, and i prefer to run a legit OS, but other than that i will pirate application softwar as licences are usually crazily expensive.

The only stuff that I download are SNES games that can't be bought anymore (and even when you can buy them, their from second-hand shops that don't give money to the companies anyway), and individual songs (since I refuse to buy a CD for one or two songs).
