Well, I've been thinking about this (mostly spurred on by DJ Canada's current sig). Would it be possible to substitute something in for a sig script. You know, instead of just displaying some random thing from the script every time (which seems to slow down the loading with text sigs), there'd be a little button you could click (much like the hide sig button), that would set it to an alternate 'plain' sig from that user (it would of course have to be set before). For an example:

My sig script currently has 4 sigs in it (psymon's Glenn, er... I can't remember the other Glenn, my Nightmare/Magus sig, and the comic sig). Then at the top of the sig script, I could designate one to be used as an alternative to the script (I would choose the Nightmare one). Then, when someone clicks the 'disable script' button, wham, the sig automagically changes to the Nightmare sig without randomizing any more.

Now I wonder if you understood that at all...

Hmmm, that is a good idea Glenn. A sort of default avatar/sig. But what if someone doesn't select a default sig image or text. I guess it could just be the first "line" for a script...

Mabey a "Lock Users Sig", Along side of the "HideSig option". And it too will show how many people have it locked/hidden.

But poeple don't want to lock everyones sig script(s), only the ones that they find anoying.

Both options together would be good, however.

I can't really see how this would work, tbh. In terms of loading time it would take just as long to get the script with one line as it does now, and for images, does it matter?

Mabey a seperate hiding things, like avs?

It was just a thought so I wouldn't have to hide the entire sig of a person that's using a sig script (specifically a text script). I don't like the slow loading times, but I like even less to see 'You have this user's sig currently blocked' or whatever it says when you hide a sig.

I use Firefox, AdBlock, and "http://www.blamethepixel.com/sig.php*". Not sure if that helps you.

Doesn't that block every image from a site?

nup, cause images are done via sigimg.php, so that's just the ones that use the script version
