All of the IQ tests are different though. some are easy some are hard.
You could get 150 on one test and 90 on another

What annoys me the most is when it doesn't tell you that you have to pay until you've done the test.

i got 114 on test the nation, it was a bad test - too mnay knowledge Qs, altho they were ones i got right.
Also did a tickle IQ test recently, scored 139 - more like my ususal score.

Just done that IQ test .com one - 160, *yawn* I reckon they over rate you to make u buy the report

Just summat to think about:

The term "IQ score" is widely used but poorly defined. There are a large number of tests with different scales. The result on one test of 132 can be the same as a score 148 on another test. Some intelligence tests don't use IQ scores at all. Mensa has set a percentile as cutoff to avoid this confusion. Candidates for membership in Mensa must achieve a score at or above the 98th percentile (a score that is greater than or equal to 98 percent of the general population taking the test) on a standard test of intelligence.

In the tickle one I got 166.
On IQ test.com I got 142.

Yeah I hate it when there's too much general knowledge. I've never seen a fax machine in my life because I don't work in an office (infact I don't work at all ). I don't know exactly what the houses of parliament look like. Just because I don't know doesn't mean that it should affect my IQ. It's completely unrelated to my IQ.

The top 2% is an IQ of about 130 I think and the top 1% is something like 160.

It seems like all internet IQ tests overrate the people who take them. The true average IQ is about 100, but on internet IQ tests you usually get above 120.

the thing you want to watch for when you see the average is what the standard deviation is.

You can then plot them onto a normal distribution curve and figure out the probability of someone scoring higher than you.

This is on S1 on the edexcel syllabus btw if anyone is looking at taking A level maths.

I got 138 on an IQ test mean 100 s.d. 15 meaning there is only a 0.65% chance of someone scoring equal to or higher than me. (assuming that IQ is a actually a discrete distibution and so doing a continuity correction to 137.5)

Do you do hypothesis testing with that yet?

Oh and the 1 question IQ test. Is the one question "What's your IQ?"
