If you have a BMP that you want to be playable on-line, you can use the import function in worms, and then type a name in the box and save, without going into preview mode.

If you already have a PNG downloaded (There are plenty available here) then you can put it straight into the SavedLevels directory.

Right click on the map preview, and choose the icon that looks like a floppy disk

The import isn't very good. It blends the land in with the black background so you get a VERY uneven surface with lots of pixels near the land. The best way is to use a program to save it as a png file with the right colour format... or find someone else to do it.

Just exactly what IS the correct color format. I finally broke down and used the import feature because I got tired of trying.

Bmp would probably be better than png for importing. This is because it will take it with better quality then sum pngs. Tho it's horribly larger in file size..

well, you can't actually import a png file, so yes... bmp is better than png for importing...

I downloaded a file and i saved it as PNG, BMP and JPG and tried to import them (I tried putting the png in the saved levels folder but it was the wrong colour type but I can't change that with the program I use)
PNG didn't apprear on the list. And BMP and JPG ended up with pixels all the way round the edge of every single bit of land.

And they'll also appear inside the land if there are colors beyond the basic palete (look at my Magus map up close and you'll notice it).

to set the correct palett in fireworks:

1. click file, export
2. choose PNG as output type
3. find colors and set it to 64
4. make sure the top left color is black
5. save it

thats from memory, and i probably named things wrong. don't sue me. or do, and i'll sue you back for wasting my time and get financial compensation :)
