wow, particle physics is surprisingly interesting compared to nuclear physics. It even has naked bottoms (mesons made up of one bottom flavour quark, with no anti-bottom flavour quark)
Yes, they're actually called flavours. They were originally thinking of naming the first three discovered flavours: chocolate, strawberry and vanilla.
Instead they're boring: Up, Down, Strange, Charm, Top, Bottom.
Still, more interesting than usual physics.
Heh, we were playing with cloud chambers today - liquid nitrogen (I think) is always fun to blow on people. Half the staff at the school had never seen a cloud chamber working as well as mine happened to be going... It's sheer luck, of course, that I got good results out of my one...
