Here we go - if the top corners aren't transparent for anyone, go get Firefox already!

They would be transparent in a good browser.

Don't make me become a Firefox Nazi and eliminate every GIF image on this site, and replace them with PNG files that adhere to year-old standards that IE doesnt support. If you force me i'll even make this whole site to use external stylesheets and DIVs with position:fixed - then lets see you even try to view the page with IE. IE is not the best browser by any stretch of the word. IE is not even being updated anymore! Heck, i could even get this thing to NOT show you anything whatsoever if your user agrent string contains IE, and instead replace it with messages such as this!
I want to make a decree. Anyone who talks shit about PNG, or who thinks PNG is better then GIF, will get temporarily banned - with no predetermined limit to how long.
And whoever thinks PNGs are inferior because of lack of animation, go look up MNGs.
Let this be a lesson: don't temp me and say that IE is a better browser and that its OUR FAULT that PNGs dont work in IE. I WILL become a Firefox nazi. Trust me on that.

PNGs are fine. I save tons of things png. You just have to save the png as the correct format of png.

No! This kind of assinine bullcrap is what I mean.
What you mean to say is "You need to save them as a certain type of PNG so some dumbass incompatable browser can show them otherwise the dumbass browser doest obay THE STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS OF PNG AND DOES NOT SUPPORT THEM FULLY"
GOD DAMN
I HATE IGNORANT PEOPLE
WE ARE SAVING PNGS IN A COMPLETELY STANDARD MANNER. THEN IE DOESN'T SHOW THEM RIGHT. SUDDENLY WE ARE IN THE WRONG? IF YOU WRITE DOWN DIRECTIONS, AND GIVE THEM TO SOMEONE, AND THEY DONT FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS AND THEN BLAME THE AUTHOR OF THE DIRECTIONS FOR THEIR PERCEIVED MISTAKE, IS THAT RIGHT? CAUSE THATS WHAT ALL YOU ASSHOLES ARE DOING.
GOD DAMN.
PS: sorry for the rant - i'm not in the best of moods.

Yea, you are. Not every 'dumbass bastard' is going to run out and download and install Mozilla or Firefox or Opera or a god damn thing because they're too lazy and aren't worried about standards, they just want to see the god damn web page and there's no reason it can't be correct (unless you use something that can't easily be converted to be compatible, and isn't necessary).
When I say "every 'dumbass bastard'," I mean most people. Now, I could go and change to Firefox or standard Mozilla, but I don't need to. Most people take the necessary 5 seconds to make things compatible for us dumbass bastards.
Edit: Remember, Microsoft would be the one to blame for not complying with standards. Not users for not downloading another browser.

Well said routine. And not only that, it's a waste of memory to keep getting new browsers. We're trying to be browser friendly here so bugger off and make everything capable friendly.

If web users accept IE / Microsoft's behavior, things will never be fixed. If we get users to complain to MS about how there browser is wrong, they could change it eventually.
I suppose i'm just a hardass about it - but hey, the linux revolution has gotten this far - why can't the FireFox revolution occur?

Doesn't Firefox only take up 8MB on teh hard drive? Now if you can't afford that much hard disk space you must be running a computer with less hard drive space on ur hard drive/s than memory on my old graphics card...
[Edit by CBWhiz: fixed terminology, HD space != memory.]
