why not keep a record of these deleted things. As counts and stuff. It seems kinda stupid to delete things and it changes the number. Just my opinion. But before social users and money that's how it was i believe. But i could be wrong

C1, the thread ID is a count... It adds one every time a new record is created, if 1 is deleted then it doesn't go back to that number. So just look at the latest thread and that's the number of threads...

So if posts are deleted then ur post count doesnt go down? I thought it did. Because i deleted a post a few weeks ago and it went down.

Yes it does. Try deleting this post and watch my count before and after. I just tested it.

And when you delete a thread, it lowers that count by not one, but TWO threads. I know. You can search the site, I have three threads posted. However, when I created another one, and ended up deleting it because someone had just posted about it, it dropped down to two. WHAT's GOING ON?!?

That is the thread deleting query... As you can see, threads=threads-1. As far as I can see it doesn't lower your thread count by more than 1.

Deleting a post individually lowers your post count, but when a thread is deleted, no post counts are lowered.

Glenn, your thread count probably never went up in the first place when you posted the thread that you later deleted. I just posted a thread in the test forum (which you can't see) and then deleted my thread. My thread count should've gone up to 53 but it didn't so I lost 1 thread. Mysterious! Which forum did you post your thread in?

well, as it turns out there was an error with the query (I forgot a ')... I don't know how it got there, seeing as our thread counts have gone up, but it should be fixed now...
