here's a er.. test.. version. I'm not intending on resetting it tho, so don't go too crazy.
http://www.blamethepixel.com/pixville.php
the images are pretty much all temporary, so don't worry about the terrible quality . lol
And er... please don't buy all the lots for yourself. lol. You can have more than one, if your building is too big. Also, don't buy till you have an image. It will be allowed, but atm I'd like you to only buy when yer ready.
A PSD template is available for photoshop:
http://www.blamethepixel.com/images/PixVille/Templates/roadtemplate.psd
and for those without, here is a PNG version:
Don't include any of the template in your final file - but leave the file dimensions exactly as they are!
The inner diamond is your main bit of land. Th eoutside bit os road / footpath, but don't draw the road or footpath, these are already there...
You can draw on any area that is not black, however, the grey bit is shared so it might get
covered over. After buying a lot (£100), you can click on it in the map, and then click "edit this house" at the bottom to add your own image. It must be in GIF or PNG format. There is no file size limit atm, but I suggest keeping it under 40k (most optimised pngs seem to be under 5k)
Shadows should all follow the following example, the length of the shadow is left to personal preference but try to make it match. The light direction is up and left form the object, with shadows falling at an angle as illustrated in the following diagram

a couple more useful resources
1) The Official PixVille Grass, use it as a pattern for your own lawns
2) The Pixel Art Grid, use this as a pattern and flood fill it into an entire layer. You can then hide and display it as you work to make sure your lines are correct

I suppose that's one "good" thing about my degree (aero engineering), there aren't too many terms/words/etc that have "alternative" meanings.
What, like cockpits, turboshafts, thrust, nozzles, corkscrews, ram drag, payload, flaps, and wind tunnels? |
