I had an idea.

Do you think we can have 5 secs audio preview for fanfares? Could be a nice idea if we want to know what's the fanfare. Also, look at this file: Non-existant!. This is a big customization for WA/WWP but nobody can know what it looks It's very sad. So I think it could be a nice idea to add a 5 secs preview to each audio file.

If I didn't send this to Suggestions, it's because I send about 4 at once and maybe it'll be spam ^^

The only way to do that is to use some flashy player (pun intended).

Is a flash player too difficult to install?

Fanfares are usually so short that you might as well just listen to the actual file itself. I don't think generating a preview is worth it.

What about speeches? Maybe we can send 3 files from the speech and put them like previews.

that would be difficult since they're stored in some kind of compressed file. Would need an app that opened up the zip/rar and take out three sound files....

It's relatively easy to do actually, it'd just be hard finding a person who thinks it's worth doing and can program it.

look at this: A zip file contains what? FILES! So you can send about 3 non-compressed files in a list for a preview and they'll be played randomly into the "PREVIEW" player.

Why have it search for the file in the ZIP? Why not just give them the option to upload a preview separately, like it used to be for old .BIT maps(and possibly still is)? So instead of uploading an image preview for the sounds, they could upload a few sounds that go into an embedded player of some kind.
