I just got a call today from my mother and she... told me that my father had died this morning. He just died in his sleep, nobody can figure out the cause yet. He was in his early 50's and it just makes me angry because people aren't meant to die this young. What this thread is meant for is to talk about who you've lost in your family and how you've recovered the loss. I need help.

Sorry to hear it. And yes, I lost my grandfather just 2 years ago due to cancer. My family and I don't tend to talk about it, rather we talk as if he is still with us.

I understand completely, I lost my aunt in a car accident a few months ago. I mostly felt bad for my mother because that was her sister. My mother's still quite unsocial.

aber was will man machen, wenn die Zeit gekommen ist, kann man halt nichts machen.

Ich denke das Wichtigste ist, wenn die Zeit gekommen ist, auf sein Leben zurückblicken zu können und sieht dass man kein allzu schlechter Mensch war.

Sorry to hear that. I guess the important thing to do is to remember the good times and be happy again, and how hard it is to do that just depends on your personality.
