for those of you who like to play MMORPGs but don't like to pay for your games, I have an oldish game to suggest to you, because it's completely free these days.

the name is ShadowBane, and it was a hit a while back around the seconf half of EQ's time(granted, it wasn't as big as EQ). the game is unique in quite a few ways and does a few things no other mainstream MMORPG has done even now, such as flight, castle-building, siege situations, and other things. the game is QUITE good, and it's even got the advantage of being old, and as such the player base isn't overloaded. anyway, if you're interested, go to www.shadowbane.com

Well, the first and third words of the thread title don't go together. Also, that site says I have to pay.

oh, right, sorry, forgot to inform you on that point. the site and everything about the game says you have to pay. in reality, just download the game and when you set up your account and get to the list of subscriptions for your account with ubi.com (or if you already have a ubi account and you just go directly to the subscription page) you can select a shadowbane subscription and it asks for no product key or payment options, just adds the game to your subscriptions.

oh, and if you're not a fan of mmorpgs, why are you looking into this one?

It seems playable, but a lot of people who like RPG's are probably allready addicted to WoW or Guild Wars. I am

this is true, but there are tons who don't like the monthly fees, and who, like me, think guild wars is about as fun as driving wooden stakes through your kneecaps

Driving wooden stakes thought my kneecaps sounds kinda fun actually.. Anyway, if I were to like MMORPGs, I would probably start with this.
