Ive played runescape for about 3 years, you all say after a month or so it gets boring? after a month of playing play it for another month, as your stats start to grow and you meet friends things change, its better than any other game in many ways, sure the graphics arn't amazing but could you do better, the game has over 10,000 items and alot of other stuff that hard work has gone into. Im the highest in my school and people always tell me its rubbish...thats because they all suck at it and havn't given it the chance it needs.
Edit: Watch me get rated down for posting this.
LOL! I played the game for 3 months, actually. it was at that point that I realized the game is so horribly made that you can run around killing Level 2 goblins for the rest of your life and you'd level up just as quickly as if you were killing level 90 dragons or something. that fact pretty much killed the game, but not before I realized that nothing you do in the game serves any purpose at all. very little work is required to do anything in the game at all, and absolutely NO skill is needed. it's kinda like Diablo 2 for retarded labotomy-victims (yes, RETARDED labotomy victims, not just normal ones who only have small chunks of brain to use, but retarded people who now have less brain than usual). and the graphics may be bad, but I think anyone can tolerate bad graphics if the gameplay is good, the only thing about RS is that the gameplay is NOT good. in fact, it's horrible.

Sorry but i dont agree with anything you just said, killing goblins is as fast as level 90 monsters? not atall true, for every goblin killed the exp recieved is like 5? a level 90 is like 50, and as for things being easy on the game, try getting a stat 70+ or 80 + or 90+ or even 99, it can take months.
You dont begin to enjoy the game full for half a year or more, the game does take skill just a different kind to for instance a first person shooter.
Nothing in the game served any purpose? you could say thr same about life having no purpose, ofcourse it has a purpose, to become good at it, just like any other game.

I saw runescape as one of the stupidest games to be ever made.. my sister said the same and she played it for a couple of weeks (or less)
I only played it for about ~30 minutes

My exact point, the game does not get really good for a very long time, also the free to play version is nothing compared to the paying version.

You've not yet stated why you think the game is good, VisioN.
The only reason it's good is because you get to run around and flex your big (virtual) muscles that you lack in the real world.

Thats why I don't play games that require skill levels.
Real skill is using the same character that is controlled by your own personal skills all the time. More you play, the more skills / better you get yourself, not the character.

when you use a skill, it levels up. it doesn't matter what the skill is used on, just that ti's used on something that's a valid target. therefore, killing a level 90 is the same as killing a level 2, the difference being that the 90 takes longer and will provide more experience just by himself, but in the time taken to kill the 90, you could kill several level 2s.
taking a long time does NOT make something hard, it makes it tedious. I don't want to devote months upon months to something just to be able to use it fully. and the process is so much worse than exp-grinding that I'd rather take a bullet to the head.
I'd LOVE for you to explain what kind of skill is involved, because my gf played for a while with me, and she'd never played an RPG before much less an MMO, and she did as well as anyone else I ever saw.
and lastly, there's nothing to become good at. you spam a spell or a melee attack until the other guy dies. there's no thought behind it, you just kill things pointlessly.
and question: if you don't enjoy it for at LEAST 6 months, then why the FUCK did you play it that long? that just proves all our points further. teh game is shit. if you have to play something at LEAST 6 months to start to find it interesting, the game is horrible beyond measure and needs to be deleted.

I have never played the game and never will, but in my opinion, it is seriously a HUGE waste of time arguing about it.. Either you like it or you don't, I and many others here could care less..
Edit: Vision, the lady in your avatar hasnt reloaded, and thats a 6 round revolver... Does she use magic?

You say in the time it takes to kill a level 90 you ould of killed 5 goblins, but would the prize at the end of killing it be as good? And as for people spamming spells at each other, maybe its like that when you've just started the game, but when you become better it is in no way like that. Anways go to www.runescapecommunity.com and you will see why so many people play runescape, its the biggest fan site for forum there is.

Maybe i do get to flex my virtual muscles, and SPAZ don't pretend you have muscles, remember them pics i took of you on webcam? the ones of you hiding in your wardrobe, no muscle, so dont act big behind your computer screen....im stopping this now look at my rateing for speaking my mind and expressing my opinions, no wonder hardly anyone carries on posting here anymore.
And Spleet, she does reload you just cant see because she does it so quick.

He didnt say anything about him having flex muscles, Vision.. Hes talking about having a fake image on a game, the muscles being the level, and the waste of life you get out of this. Leveling/doing things that arnt even real..

best I can tell, you didn't understand anything in the post you two are referring to :p
he wasn't saying that he had real muscle where you only have virtual muscle or that the games he plays are any more real than the ones you play. he was clarifying the fact that spaz was commenting on the fact that a game does nothing but let you brag about how good you are on a game (how big your virtual muscles are). you seem to have confused the statement for something about reality when it was only about games.
oh, and you just linked me to a community site? I've SEEN the community in RS, and I'd rather not touch it with anything less than a 100-foot long steel-reinforced bio-engineered pole that will keep the stupid from spreading. it's no worse than any other free MMORPG, but I feel the same about the communities on all the others I've tried as well.
