ok i am using photoshop to make flags and graves..... however i cant seem to use them once i get into WA... could someone tell me how to save them or what formatting to use... by that i mean color settings... colors... that kind of thing... thanks

you could always just lookup what the default/original flags are saved
worms is picky about its stuff
256 bmp and make sure its at the right size

Try copying and pasting one of the default flags and opening that up in Paint and then paste your design from photoshop into Paint. It'll make any palette alterations required for it to work ingame.

thanks a bunch.. i suppose ill have to do that... and as for maps... would it be the same process...? or should i save my colored ones in PNG format.. i have made some in the past and want to get started on making another one.. lol its only been about 5 years since i played WA though so... might take me a while..

Suppose you could do the same with .PNG maps, but I wouldn't use Paint for maps.
Try it in Photoshop or Macromedia Fireworks

Remember to make it 1920x696, with under 96 colors for a .PNG map. If it has more than 96 colors, the backround tends to go either white, or purplish, but depends, sometimes it accents the map itself.

I am using photoshop.. i hate paint.. though i have made maps in paint before.. and they turned out fine.. but this was years and years ago... im talkin almost 10 years ago.. i got WA when it first came out in 1998.. and stopped playing in like 99 2000.... so more like 6 years ago i suppose but the fact remains.. im using photoshop.. are there any good Tuts for map making in photoshop that you know of?

Put a bmp/jpg file of your colour map into your user/import folder, then using the in-game map editor, click on the little floppy disc icon and load your map. You can save it as png from there.

That's how I do it and anyother way doesn't seem to work for it.

Note: if there are too many colours, the game will automatically reduce them in a horrible fashon. Better to reduce the number of colours first by using a good program like photoshop/fireworks.

Thats helpful information and I thank you. I'm sorry I'm annoying but I have another question. Does anyone know what the maximum number of colors are allowed into the game for flags, graves, and maps? I mean like when I go into the photoshop "Save Optimized" option what should I select, like 256, or soemthing else? Sorry if my description is a little crappy, I'm having trouble putting my thoughts into words at the moment.

Allready been explained here. 96 colour for PNG maps and 256 for flags/graves.

PS: What's with the pentagrams in your sig?

well, in case you arent aware of what a pentagram represents... its a sign of evil, in my sig it represents a dark side, or an evil side, not the paganistic or satanic meaning.. I simply used it as an evil or dark reference and it kinda makes sense my name is DarKStar so thats a main reason I used it. I am quite fascinated with evil things, such as satan, and demons, and the like.

Someone I know drew the Nazi party symbol on his hand. He drew it there because he thought it looked cool, he didn't know it was the Nazi's symbol. A teacher saw it and totally flipped out on him.

It depends on where you use reloigous symbols tbh. I mean it fits completely to see pentagrams in DooM3, you'd expect that given the current situation .

Yeah I listen to black and death metal. It's good shit man, Into Eternity is my favorite band of that genre. I listen to alot of american stuff that my wife doesnt really care for like MudVayne and slipknot.. but eh.. yeah I'm not a satanist. lol
