This is a message to my computer who is feeling sick. I hope it gets well soon but it's hard to find time to take it back to the shop. It'll be about the 7th time it's had to be taken back. You can guess we'll never be buying another computer from that shop, we've had problems with others we've got there too.
So you might not see me in BTP chat for a while. Plus I'm going away next week to see Motorhead play in Auckland.
Edit: I managed to connect to the chat at work for once, so it's not all bad.

The hard drive's ok. It's probably just a stupid fan or something. The warranty's run out now I think, bastards. It seems bad to realise that we got our money's worth out of the warranty.

Threaten it with a knife.
Perhaps I'll threaten the people in the damn computer shop instead.

Just a little FAN??????
And then you get the whole PC back to the Store?????
Why just bring them Back the brocken Fan? Or buy your self a new one they arent that much.
I replaced all the noise producing fans in my PC with some ultra silent Fans.
Are you sure its a Hardware-Problem? If its just a Software-Porblem you would be better of to fix it by you own.
(or just reinstall Windumb)

I don't actually know what the problem is, I'm just guessing. I know it's definitely a hardware problem.

you need to ask them what the problem is, last time i took my.. once-used-to-be-my-main-computer back to the shop for fixage (approx. 5 years ago), they told me what the problem was so next time i could fix it myself

Try turning it on
The last time my computer broke, it was by lightning via the external modem which I had left foolishly plugged in. It's a miracle the modem wasn't damaged...

Generally, if you hear no fan turning inside your computer, the fan has broken .
If you can't tell from the sound, open the computer up and look at the fan. It's not that hard to figure out whether or not it's working.

Haven't taken it back to the shop yet, but it looks like it's the network card that's broken. I'm connected to the network on a USB device for now, and much happy because I can finally stay connected to play lots of Worms4.

Maybe you are better of if you just take the broken Network-Card to your PC-Dealer.
(This is going to be complicated if you have LAN on Board...)

But it's easier to get them to install a new one anyway. I'm a software programmer, not a computer systems engineer.
