Forgive me for asking, but wasnt Halo released about 3 years ago, if not more? Seems a bit odd that you start a thread now. I'd be mighty impressed if you'd managed to go so long without playing it. So, yeh.

Halo is fun anyhow, as is Halo 2. MP in both are good, but Halo 1 is more classic and retains its glory.

I have played Halo 1 & 2. I find them both boring. I hate Halo. The only main 1st person shooters I play are UT2k4, CS:S, & HL2. Sorry to break your hearts.

He's an RPG or a Platformer kinda guy i think. I know he plays a few FFs and Spiderman games.

I don't just play FPS games. I usually do Platform games, although it's not that I don't like RPG, I just don't flow with that kind of game. It's kind of funny, mostly normal people have UT2k4, really net crazed people have Counter Strike and Half-Life2, and all the jocks at my school have Halo.

everyone has their likes and dislikes, i've yet to play the latest Unreal.. (but now since i can download xbox games and play em, just catching up what i couldnt with little money i had)

The reason i see halo being so popular, is because its alot more free movement. You have shields which regenerate, very custom gametypes (talking #2 here) and regerate health. Mostly just being so free to play and very fast paced (depending on your gametype and who your playing against)

By the way, what good xbox FPS's are out these days? i just finished half life 2 which amazed me beyond any console game ive ever played (except for its incredibly stupid ending)... battle field 2: modern combat (was made mostly for multiplayer which... i cant use xboxlive when my softmod is going) aaaaand farcry (nice)

apart from halo 2 and stuff like that, there is things like timespilitters 3:future perfect. but that is the only one i know

Timesplitters: Future Perfect is a great game. The single-player will last you longer than most FPSs (10 mission storyline, 3 arcade leagues and the challenge modes) and the multi-player is most fantastic online, although you can't play online, you said.
