I installed the new patch for W:A a few days ago. However, when I try to start an actual game (multiplayer, mission, training etc.), it will go to a blank screen instead of the pie thingy. I took some advice from a thread in this forum and installed the Beta update. For some reason, (not sure if this is supposed to happen) 2 WA shortcut icons appeared on my screen. One said worms: armageddon (the old one with the Beta update), and a new one with just WA under it (the new one), along with some other stuff that came with the update. When I tried the new one out, I got a very flashing looking 3D Team17 icon come up my screen, followed by a microprose logo... then another blank screen.

When I checked the old version, the update hadn't solved the problem. So: has the update not intergrated properly? Is it just completely buggered up?

Details: Running on a windows XP
Have patch 3.00
Have a Sold Out version of game

Just so you know, I haven't had any of these problems since since I installed patch 3.00, but it said that I needed the new patch when I entered a game on wormNET.

Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Should I un-install the current patch before I get the update? Will it matter where I save the update?

Yes uninstall everything, then reinstall worms, then install the update.

What would happen if the latest update was added after the XP compatible one?
