Over the years of posting in forums/friends talking n'such, I've noticed something...
When kids around the age 11-14 get older, they seem to have a HUGE tendency to curse. ALOT.
People I have noticed that started cursing uncontrollably:
Sonic, JamesJLK, some other kid forgot his name, kyle, and recently, Insanitoon.
Sonic didnt curse soo much back then when everyone wanted him banned, but around that time before he was banned now all the words he knew was "FUCK SHIT ASSMOTHER CUNT LICKING VAGINA"
Then james, with the same stuff but making sentences out of it and purposly spamming.
This other guy that was about 13 just spoke randon crap in comments that eventually got deleted (as with everyone elses)
Kyle-the-spammer has been recently trying to be a black guy, or a wigger of some sort. Using language controllably but recently started to curse alot.
Now that insanitoon seems to be back, hes using the same vocabulary as sonic/jamesjlk put together.
All these kids are about the same age, or a year/1.5 difference.

Thinking about it, is this normal for puberty to start making pre-teens turn into anal-ists?

Age might not have direct corrolation with frequency of swearing because it could just be inexperience. They're 'new' to the concept of forums. I had a huge buzz when I realised I could actually type something and it'd be read when I first discovered forums here at BTP but since everyone was kind enough to be patient with me and not get too angry with me, I didn't go on a swearing spree.

I can't quite remember the beginnings of the members you mentioned, but if you didn't register here and instantly come in swearing, it might not have to do with age, but more antagonistic posts from regular members. They only know one way of arguing and that's swearing and empty threats of violence.

Oh yes, There will be blood.

I'm 13, I don't think I speak stuff like that, Do I?

Edit: I actualy don't think it is puberty that is making the pre-teen's so bad these days, it is the change from primary school to secondary school, with the "F" word being said alot more often.

Like Pope said it hasn't anything to do with the age, it has to do with the time you are posting in the forum.

Maybe they'll learn to not spam...

someday...

I seriously doubt that, I really don't think a 34 year olds gonna come onto his first forum and go "HEY FUCKFACES, I JUST JACKED UR MOM LOL?"

no, its just m"matured-ness" its the way some peoples minds make them think, which is the exact same reason why there are such things as serial rapists... something to do with the way the brain develops and which parts outnumber the rest.. sorta like turrets for forums ;)

Actually, I don't think it's age, I think it's society. When I went through middle school, if a person said fuck, the entire room just went quiet. Now, three years later, there's even grade schoolers and younger around here that are swearing constantly. And I live in a relatively small town (about 10000 people).

Yeah, when I was is middle school, there was kids running around yelling that his friend has a pin dick.:o I didn't learn those words atleast till I was in year 5... Maybe even older.

& the teachers are also not helping in those ways because if a student swears they either just say " Don't say that" or just ignore it, they should be sent out, minimum.

I had a teacher (mr.mabe, quite possibly the funniest and best teachers ive evar had), when someone would swear he would be like, "HEY!" and stop the class, even if it was silent. Like, keep telling them to shush it and stuff it was great.
He would, say some curses, usually accidental(in a conversation, of course) but he would say it alternativly, like shit- ship, asshole- athhole/ashhole, bitch- behotch and stuff like that.

Hell, I hear these girls (redhead slutty looking) that use about 10 different curse words in 1 sentence. You hear a cat fight? All you hear is "BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH" "lol" " BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH"

I don't think this sort of thing is specific to forums.

At school when I was 12, people were obsessed with drawing penises on everything (I was at an all boys school, I don't think girls do this), obsessed with dirty sexual thoughts, obsessed with pornography, all that kinda thing...

but maybe it's just the people I hang around with, I had a friend at elementary/primary school who was obsessed with drawing butts and telling dirty jokes which I didn't completely understand back then.

I guess it depends when you get hold of swear words, people try to stop kids from hearing them, and maybe they used to do a better job of that than they do now.

I suppose that's one "good" thing about my degree (aero engineering), there aren't too many terms/words/etc that have "alternative" meanings.
What, like cockpits, turboshafts, thrust, nozzles, corkscrews, ram drag, payload, flaps, and wind tunnels?

Kids today are swearing like there's no tomorrow. I never said my first swear word till I was around 10 - 11.

Even then it was a stupid word that isn't really swearing, which was "crap". :P

Yeah, swearing is increasing in today's society. I think it has a lot to do with television. They do have a lot more on tv then they used to. They practically have naked/swearing/killing people on every channel. Not that I'm complaining..I couldn't care less..but that could be the problem.

Yep. Society is now officially corrupt. Local newspaper Entertainment section has an artical on On-screen sex in movies. I'll quote it:

Quoted :: Calgary Herald

On-screen sex pushes boundaries

Misty Harris
CanWest News Service

The silver screen is turning a brazen shade of blue as celebrity skin, full-frontal nudity and graphic sex acts become increasingly prevalent at mainstream movie theaters.
The film industry is undergoing a sea change in its approach to intercourse as sex scenes become borderline pornographic.
And as more directors fight to depict intimacy with the same rawness allowed to screen violence, experts predict celluloid sex will get even raunchier.
"There seems to be an irony," says Kim Blank, who teaches cultural studies at the University of Victoria.
"People fake it during real sex, and during fake movie sex, they try to make it more real.
David Cronenberg's A History Of Violence, which opened to rave reviews last week includes a scene which actress Maria Bello and actor Victor Mortensen simulate explicit oral sex.

There are kids who sneak into movie theaters! We can't have little people exposed to more porn. It's wrong.

I think society is quite wrong. The only reason kids say things like fuck and shit is because it's bad to use them. On their own, they don't mean anything, and if they don't mean anything then you shouldn't frown upon it.

If kids want to be retards and just randomly swear like they have terrets (sp?) then let them make retards of themselves. That's their own business..and just try to ignore it.
