Well, the greatest game series ever Doom, is finally coming to the big screens in October later this year.
Seeing such stars as The Rock, takes off like Doom 3, on Mars.

The doom movie is a live action movie, starring the Rock. Not a CG shiny thingery

As much as I love Doom, you have to admit, very rarely does an actually GOOD movie- video game / video game- movie transition come around. Hopefully Doom will be good. We'll have to wait and find out...

Personally, I've never played the Doom series, nor to I have any real interest in doing so. But, it's a movie, and I *might* go see it. Emphasis on the might.

has anyone read the books? i have them all (there are four), but i only read the second and the last one (when i was 13 or 14 or something i dont remember it was a long time ago). anyway i thought the books were pretty good. if you don't know already, i don't read much, but i had never read any book quite like those. if the movie has any kind of quality to it and has a story similar to or at least as well written as the books, i look forward to it.

The only movies that was close to the book was The Outsiders and LoTR. I doubt it would be close to the books.

me too, but only because the books are pretty odd, and i think it would be hard to bring to video. or, maybe not. i see no reason why they wouldn't go by the books (if feasable) since the games never seemed to have too much plot to them...

of course they could always make up another plot and story, which would be fine by me, i just hope it doesn't such.

Well I checked out some of the photos of the Doom movie and it looks like what you descibed in the game.

When Halo the movie comes out, I bet its gonna start out on Reach where the covenant glass the planet. It has to start there, otherwise it will be the same mistake bungie did when they left all the stuff out (cept for the first book) when the game started on the Pillar of Autumn.
Tho I dunno, games can last up to 6-10 hours of playing time while movies are 2... but then Final Fantasy the movie seemed tottally different from its games

that's because the movie wasn't even ATTEMPTING to be based off of any of their games. in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the name was only used to sell more tickets.

To sell more tickets? Heh. I don't even think it was in theaters. Final Fantasy is popular amoung the gamers, but not a whole lot of people are into video games at that time, so I doubt that people would care about the title!
