Complicated situation.
I recently installed a second RAM stick into the motherboard, 512MB DDR 333MHz, with the old stick, 256 MB of the same type. After I did so the computer sped up like fuck and I had something geogously fast. But after 5 minutes Firfox crashed, and the crasheg again, and then the whole computer crashed and restarted itself. And it did this randomly over and over again. So I tooke out the 256 MB stick and still did the same thing (The computer just crashed as soon as I logged on this time) and so I reluctantly take out the 512 MB and put the 256 MB one back, and it works fine now but pathetically slow again.
Anyone got any ideas whats going on here. I think the RAM stick is slightly damaged but thats all I can think of.

I can hardly repair a stick of something complicated such as RAM. Would a processor speed limit how much RAM you can add without it crashing?

put in only the ram stick that doesnt work, and if it doesnt boot then return it.

No, but your motherboard would.
put in only the ram stick that doesnt work, and if it doesnt boot then return it.
Do this.

Aready did that: it didnt boot. So I am returning it.
Is this because it is faulty?

There's a good chace that that would be a distinct possibility of a firm maybe.
IOW, either yes, or your computer hates you.
