I am starting to get bored of Diablo2...

I need a new game...
I was thinking of world of warcraft... but I dont wanna pay per month...

any ideas?

Mostly I need a good online game, thats DIAL UP compatable and free to play online.

Guild Wars! It has no monthly payments, Looks the sex even on lower settings and has a fantasic combat system.

There's also a 3ps called Gunz. It's 56k friendly, but only in small groups (above 6 players it depends on your location and how fast you're actually connecting). It's completely free, you don't even have to pay for the client. However, the 150 MB download size means you're going to need a download manager to get it, unless you LIKE leaving your connection on all day.

Your also gonna want http://gunz.k-forums.net/ping/index.php. It tells you when the servers are up. They shut them down at 3PM GMT everyday so for us people in england, we can't play until the weekend.

They don't shut them down, they just disconnect and then reconnect the servers to knock the afk people offline. We've all been playing online during the day just fine.

Also, I remember from another forum, the ping rates are flawed because, if the server is almost full, it will show that the server is down when it really isn't. For example, at this moment, it shows that the server is offline, but I'm on it right now. Also, that chart doesn't show international server #2.

The indication that the server is down is that, when you click login, it just sits there and doesn't do anything for over a minute.

Starcraft probably kept me the most busy. I've been playing that in and out for friggen 7 years and yet theres STILL something to play! buy the chest. (it has battle.net too just like diablo does)

UT2k4 is fun, but with 56k, DM is really hard. (shots are delayed)

I got starcraft and warcraft.

I also got Delta Force 2, it is ok to with dail up so long as you have a reasonable computer. But alot of pros play on there and a few online hackers... I got bored of it quickly.

I really like the role playing type games tho. Games where you can set yourself as in indivdual rather than being just a random nickname in a massive world.

I wanna customize characters with as many possibiltys as I can and pit them agiast the rest of the world.

Gunz it is then. You level up in Gunz. Although leveling up doesn't give you any HP or AP bonuses, it allows you to buy better weapons and armor, which all have unique appearances.

And, quest mode should be coming sometime in the near future.

Yeah, all it is at the moment is FFA deathmatch with levels.
(I wish they would sort out the TDM. It's round-based, If I wanted that I would of played counter-strike. GIVE US STANDARD TDM)

Well, there's more than just standard free for all

There's gladiator, a free for all that's swords only.
And, there's assassinate, a team game where the objective is to kill the glowing person on the other team. This gametype sort of requires the team deathmatch setup for it to work, though Psymon evidentally hates that...

Gladiator is just a weapon restriction mode, that shouldn't really be counted as a "Whole new gametype" and I have no problems with assassination mode. It's like VIP from CS1.6.
But what I want is bog-standard TDM, with respawns whenever, not round-based TDM.

what about Counter Strike?

He has no chance on CS with dial-up.
