This does happen in the Movie, just not yet, they saved that for the Last movie for getting people to watch it, if they have gollum (most peoples favourite character including me) plotting against them in the 2nd movie, it makes people want to see the new movie to find out what Gollums plan was.

By the way Terminator Owns, 1st and 3rd are the best i wasnt too keen on the 2nd it was lame kiddy shit.

I didn't even take the time to read your entire post, I'd never read LOTR. Good movies, though. Long mo' fo's, but good.

LOTR Films aren't accurate enough for me. They are good, but not as good as the books. If they were a bit more accurate, eg Tom bombadil etc., they would be some of the best films ever

yeah Tom Bombadil doesnt even exist in the movie, doesnt make to much sense, but then again you want the movie to hold your attention the whole wya through and they definately managed that.

Tom Bombadil sucks. im glad they didnt put him in the movie it was long enough without putting some old fat guy from the mountains in it... i agree that the books r better but u use tom bombadil as an example? the elves in helms deep is a good example though how retarded is that? they made helms deep a way bigger scene in the movie than it was in the books...

ya but thats cause its action. and ppl like action. they missed tons of parts and made up for it with action. in the books it get boring in some parts. such as: walking parts and they walk for like 2 chapters. like the part where they're chasing after pippin and merry

But tom bombadil was an important part of the story, he's mentioned at the council as somewhere to put the ring and he rescues the hobbits twice, once from the barrow downs which is where they get the swords forged my the men of westernesse (numenor) which is important because that's why merry can kill the king of the ringwraiths at the end of the third book. He also saves them from that tree, which is probably important too - i just cant remember why. He is also supposed to have a really fit wife, so that'd be good too.

it's not a key point in the storyline, but it is fairly important - knowing that merry kils the sourceror king of the ringwraiths doesn't really spoil anything because i haven't told you about the other related issues surrounding that event.

HEY HEY im reading the third 2. i read the first 2 like a year ago and then got so bored at the start of the third book when they r at minth tirith or whatever its called that i stopped. im a little more mature now and i think i can handle it. (i stand by my belief that tom bambadil sucks and is completly unneccisary) hey the biggest difference i think is that in the books frodo is 50 when he leaves how crazy is that?

ya thats the first chapter. i read slow cause i hate sounds so i stop everytime i hear a sound. and theres skool. im at i think page 30 or so now.
