i find that i leave my computer on for so often anymore that i don't bother making everything run on startup like would be convenient, when i just leave everything running for a week or so or however long it gets to be without rebooting.

My computer sucks, but it still manages to boot up in less than a minute. I'll edit this post with it's stats later.
Windows ME
933 Mhz Pentium III Processor
128 MB RAM
32 MB ATI Radeon 7200 series
17" monitor (some Dell type or other)
40 GB hard drive
And... that's all I really know or care to find out about my system. I should be getting a new computer soon though...

For all those who don't know how to use msconfig, consult the following link:

Hey pope I have style xp but i've disabled it to come on at start up, but my theme is always on as soon as it starts up.
I have a fairly new computer which cost me over 1000 pound so its pretty fast, takes about 30 seconds to start up if that. I have MSN, Winamp, McAfee Security, KX Manager (sound driver) and Nvidia Settings all load up but it doesnt affect it really.
Spec:
Win XP SP2 (Home edition)
Pentium 4 (3.2Ghz 2 CPU's)
512MB DDR Ram
Geforce 4 mmx 440 (64mb)
Creative 5.1 Live Soundcard and Creative 5.1 speakers (Inspire T5400)
190Gb HD (dont know the rpm )
I would of prefered 2 seperated hard drives though so I could of stored music on one, like I did on my last comp.
My last computer majorly sucked though and was ALWAYS playing up, so i'm looking after this one, especially considering I have paid for this one not my parents.

Its my guess that styleXP's results are used in the shell, so the only way you could get rid of its effects is to disable the shell program? Which would kinda muck up your computer, so dont try it.
