K, to summarize. I installed the game and it worked fine. But then when I tried to get the patch and run it, an error kept coming up saying a dll file was needed. So Falkra sent me that file over email. It did do some good, but now when I try to play the game, it first goes black, like it's supposed to, but then goes back to my regular desktop. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling thousands of times now. i have a 2002-2003 hp laptop.

Set the compatibility to Windows 98.
Update graphic drivers and direct X (but you've probably already done this).
Uninstall/reinstall.
Check to see if any programs may be interferring (unlikely, but you can't be too careful).

For some unknown weird reason, Kazaa happens to cause problems with WWP. If you don't have kazaa, I don't know what's the problem.

So does anybody now how to get it to go past the cd check routine? I think I've described it before, but it goes black, like it's getting ready to run, but then goes back to the desktop in a couple minutes. The error for the dll file never came up again after Falkra sent me it, it just goes black, then back to the desktop. Any ideas?
